The heavyweight championship of the world takes place tonight in Dallas as Stipe Miocic puts his title on the line in a rematch against former champ Junior Dos Santos in the UFC 211 main event. Strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk puts her title on the line against Brazilian powerhouse Jessica Andrade in the co-main event.

Gadzhimurad Antigulov vs. Joachim Christensen

Round 1 – Antigulov in blue corner, Christensen in red. Nice left from Antigulov and secures a takedown. Antigulove controls Christensen on the ground, takes his back with both hooks in with 3:25 left in the round. After some hand-fighting, Antigulov sinks in the choke and forces the tap.

Enrique Barzola vs. Gabriel Benitez

Round 1 – Touch of gloves. Barzola in blue corner. Benitez in red, and he just lands a hard body kick. Another left kick to the body. Hard inside low kick next. Then a hard straight left stuns him. Low kick from Barzola. Another body kick from Benitez but Barzola secures a takedown. They scramble and Benitez is back up. Barzola ducks under a punch and shoots in but it’s stuffed. More kicks from Benitez. Barzola with a few kicks now, a punch combo then a body lock takedown. Benitez gets right up and they square up after  brief clinch. Hard body kick from Benitez. Barzola goes high with a kick, blocked. Straight hard left from Benitez. Hard inside low kick from Benitez, body kick. Nice counter right from Barzola, then scores with a big slam. Barzola lands a few strikes from top before the bell. Benitez got the better of the standup and probably got the round though he was taken down three times.

Round 2 – After a few exchanges Barzola gets a takedown. Benitez scrambles to his feet as Barzola has him pressed to the cage. Benitez breaks out and they go back to exchanging strikes. Barzola with another big takedown, but Benitez gets up pretty quick. Hard inside low kick from Benitez. Another quick takedown from Barzola, but Benitez is right back up again. Knee to the body from Benitez. Barzola fires back with a punch combo and takedown. Benitez bounces right up. Lands a nice left and body kick. Barzola tunes him up with a few punches and ties him up against the cage until the bell. 10-9 Barzola.

Round 3 – Body kick from Benitez, he slips on a kick but is right back to his feet. Barzola picks him up high for another takedown, takes top control in half guard. He postures up with punches and takes Bentiez’s back with both hooks in. Barzola locks on the choke for a second but Benitez is able to get free and is back up landing a few punches. Body kick from Barzola. High kick from Benitez is blocked. Straight left from Benitez, then a high kick. Barzola shoots in, stuffed. Nice right from Barzola. Not much on either of their punches at this point. Hard body kick attempt from Benitez is blocked. Barzola scores another takedown, works a little ground and pound before Benitez scrambles to his feet. Body kick from Benitez. A final straight left right before the bell drops Barzola. 10-9 Barzola as I see it.

Jessica Aguilar vs. Cortney Casey

Round 1 – Low kick from Jagg. But Casey fires back with a nice punch combo. Jagg with a low kick that puts Casey down. Casey goes for a leg but Jagg gets out. Casey trips her and as she gets up Casey lands a flurry of punches. Low kick from Casey, then lands another nice punch combo. Jagg gets a trip takedown, Jagg gets a foot and drags Casey away from the cage, then kicks her legs. Casey kicking at her knees and then secures full guard. Ref stands them up after a few moments. Jagg presses her to the cage but then backs out. Right counter from Jagg. Casey wanting Jagg to bring it on. Casey with a punch combo. Using her jab well, scores a knee to the face. Casey with another punch combo but Jagg hurts Casey with a right right after the horn. Casey had already relaxed and didn’t take the punch as well. 10-9 Casey.

Round 2 – Casey lands a hard knee but Jagg is able to use it to take her down. Casey kicking at her knees and lands an up kick to the face. Jagg holding her leg and kicking at her now. Ref stands them up. Casey scoring with punches as they tie up briefly. Hard low kick from Casey, but Jagg catches it and trips her to the ground. Casey stuns Jagg with an upkick and kicks at her knees. Jagg holding her foot trying to kick her legs but keeps getting kicked. Casey goes for a leglock but eats some hammerfists. Jagg maintains top control until the bell, landing the occasional body shot. 10-9 Casey.

Round 3 – Casey aggressive with the strikes and punch combos. Overhand right from Jagg. She ties Casey up to the cage. Casey turns her around as they wrestle in the clinch. Jagg backs out to the center of the octagon and is bleeding from nose and mouth heavily. Casey tunes her up with a punch combo. Pushes Jagg to the cage. Casey lands a flurry as Jagg goes to back out of the clinch. Jagg shoots in, takes a knee to the body. Jagg ties her up but she pays for it then backs out. Jagg secures a single leg takedown but can’t capitalize and Casey is right back up throwing punches. Jagg presses her to the cage, but gets turned around. Jagg turns her back around but Casey escapes. Right from Jagg, and another. She lands a few more before the bell. Jessica Aguilar raises her hands, but her bloody face tells a different story.

Marco Polo Reyes vs. James Vick

Round 1 – Vick lands a left counter hook then a right hand that drops Reyes. Vick follows up with some shots on the ground and the ref steps in to save Reyes.

Rashad Coulter vs. Chase Sherman

Round 1 – Low kick from Sherman. High kick misses. Right from Coulter. Hard low kick from Sherman. Some nice low kicks from Sherman, lands another inside and low. Couple of punches and a front kick from Sherman. Low kick. Coulter trying to get inside on the longer man, but having trouble. Sherman lands a nice left. Coulter stuns him with a jab. Sherman with a low kick that does not feel good. Sherman looks like the more technical striker but Coulter turns it up with a big punch combo. They trade right hands. Low kick and left behind the head from Sherman. Coulter gets buckled with the next leg kick. It’s totally jacked and Sherman is pouring on the pressure now. Front kick from Sherman, leg kick then head kick. Straight left from Rashad. Wow, good stuff. 10-9 Sherman.

Round 2 – Coulter’s coach reams him about taking so many leg kicks during the break. Front kick to the face from Sherman. Coulter lands a hard counter right. He eats a knee to the face, two leg kicks and gets punched up inside. Sherman drops him then goes for the ground and pound finish with over 4 minutes to go. Coulter makes his way to his feet. Sherman pressing him to the cage. They trade knees to the body and Coulter comes off the fence swinging. He can barely walk now and Sherman delivers kicks to both legs. Coulter is still fighting and lands some hard punches that stun Sherman. Sherman touches him up with a combo. Coulter is all heart and power now, lands a big right. They trade more punches and we still got 2 minutes. Elbow from Sherman, Coulter fires back but Sherman is still on him. Both guys can barely stand now in this throwback. Sherman with a quick right elbow that folds Coulter and it’s over. That’s the best heavyweight fight I’ve seen in recent memory. Rashad Coulter is barely human.

Jason Knight vs. Chas Skelly

Round 1 – They trade punches early. Knight with a front kick, then a low kick. Right hook from Knight but Skelly counters with a hook. Skelly with a takedown. Knight with a rubber guard, mission control. Knight secures an omoplata, Skelly escapes eventually, they scramble and Skelly looks to put him on his back again. Knight back on bottom with mission control. Knight gets a gogoplata position, this ends up in a scramble with Knight looking for a kimura. Skelly gets free and they are back to the fight. Jab from Skelly, then a counter right. He ties Knight up against the cage as the round winds down. Knight turns him to the cage and gets his own takedown before the bell. 10-9 Knight.

Round 2 – Leap in left from Skelly and then a low kick. Knight catches a kick and dumps Skelly. Lets him up, lands a counter right hook and left. Knight talking to Skelly now. Counter right hook from Knight. Skelly with a low kick. Uppercut from Skelly. Front kick from Skelly to the thigh knocks Knight off balance. Knight lands some punches, and a couple counter right hooks. Knight stuffs a takedown attempt. Left counter hook from Skelly, but he takes a couple front kicks to the body. Skelly shoots for the single against the cage. Knight defending well. Knight turns him around to the cage and lands a solid right elbow. Knight gets his own takedown, lands in side mount. Knight hops on his back and looks for a crucifix. Skelly gets out and hits him with a head kick as he stands up. He gets off a couple more punches to end the round strong. Skelly may have stole the round there.

Round 3 – They trade shots and Skelly goes down after a left hook. Knight continues to batter him unconscious as the referee looks on, then finally stops it after many unanswered shots. Skelly gets up afterward and takes off running somewhere totally unaware of what is going on.

Eddie Alvarez vs. Dustin Poirier

Round 1 – Inside low kick from Poirier. Right uppercut to the body from Alvarez, another. Low kick from Poirier. Body kick from Poirier and a counter right hook. Lead left hook from Eddie. Whiffs on an overhand right. Poirier shakes his head. Inside low kick from Alvarez. Right hook from Poirier, then knocks Eddie back with a straight left. Eddie shoots in, stuffed. Right to the body from Alvarez. Again. Right hook from Poirier, then knocks Eddie back again with a straight left. Hard smacking body kick from Poirier. Low kick. Right hook from Alvarez, then a left hook. Right to the body. Left from Poirier and a low kick. Some good head movement from Eddie, eats a right hook though. High kick from Eddie is mostly blocked, again. 10-9 Poirier.

Round 2 – Right hook from Eddie, left hook, then a right. Eddie shoots in against the cage. Poirier goes for a standing guillotine. Eddie pops his head out and looks for the double leg. Knee to the body from Dustin. Eddie backs out with a combo. Nice jab from Dustin connects. High kick from Eddie blocked, eats an uppercut from Dustin. Jab from Dustin snaps Eddie’s head back. Another jab from Dustin. Hard counter left from Dustin knocks Eddie back and he’s wobbling all over. Dustin goes for the kill but Eddie is surviving, eating shot after shot. Eddie connects and has Dustin against the cage. It’s a battle for the ages. Dustin gets his neck again but Eddie escapes and they go back to swinging. Eddie scores a takedown with just over a minute to go. Eddie lands three knees to the face while Dustin is grounded with both knees and both hands on the canvas. The fight is stopped due to the illegal knees, Dustin says he feels pressure on his eyeball like maybe he has a broken orbital and can’t continue. The fight is ruled a No Contest.

Dustin tells the fans not to boo Eddie after the fight and it wasn’t intentional and they put it all on the line every time. This is very unfortunate as it was turning out to be an incredible fight, one for the ages. Dammit. We need to see this one again guys!

David Branch vs. Krzysztof Jotko

Round 1 – Body kick from Branch. He goes high with another kick  but blocked. Left hand from Jotko. Branch scores a takedown, drops an elbow and left hand from inside full guard. Branch with more elbows. Jotko tries to push off the hips but is unable to get any distance. He finally gets his back to the cage and works his way to his feet. Elbow from Branch in the clinch. They clinch wrestle against the cage. Branch with the foot stomp, knee to body. Jotko with a trip takedown, but Branch is right back up. Jotko pushes him to the cage, Branch turns him around and they trade knees. Branch controls against the cage for the remainder of the round. 10-9 Branch.

Round 2 – Side kick to the leg from Branch. Jotko presses Branch to the cage. Lands a spinning elbow on the break. Kick from Branch lands below the belt and timeout is called. Jotko managing distance well and knocks Branch off balance with a counter punch. Jab from Branch. Left from Jotko. Takedown from Branch but Jotko bounces right back up. Jotko lands a couple lefts. Body shot from Branch and he presses Jotko to the cage. Ref separates them. Branch lands a couple jabs. Wheel kick from Jotko knocks Branch back a bit. Branch shakes his head and scores a takedown but Jotko bounces right up again. 10-9 Jotko.

Round 3 – High kick from Branch. Right to the body. More shots from Branch. Jotko with not much output this round so far 2 minutes in. Branch puts Jotko to the cage where they exchange knees and turn each other around a couple times. The crowd is booing at the stalemate. They finally move back to the center and square up. Branch with a takedown. He looks for a choke as Jotko gets up but can’t secure it. Branch pushes him to the cage back on the feet. 1 minute to go. Ref separates them. Nice knee to the body from Jotko. High kick. Jotko lands a sweet uppercut at the 10 second mark and Branch ties him up until the bell. Who knows how they’ll score this one, but I’d give Branch the last round.

Frankie Edgar vs. Yair Rodriguez

Round 1 – Edgar scores first with a punch combo. Knee to the body from Yair. Nice punch counter combo. Back elbow from Yair. Edgar looking for the takedown. Yair grabs his neck but gets put on his back. Frankie inside his full guard. Right elbow from Frankie and he postures up with punches. More solid shots from Frankie. Frankie keeping the pressure on, postures up again with a big right, again. Multiple elbows from Edgar. Edgar unleashing an assault of punches and elbows and holds the dominant position for a couple minutes. 10-8 Edgar.

Round 2 – Yair’s left eye is almost shut from swelling. Left counter from Edgar. Wheel kick from Yair scores solid. Big takedown slam from Edgar. Yair goes for a leg and looks for a kneebar. Edgar defends, lands an elbow. Edgar unleashes several punches on that swollen eye. Edgar moves to full mount now. Yair gives up his back and threatens with a kimura. After a scramble, Edgar is back dropping elbows on that swollen eye. Edgar inside full guard with just under 2 minutes to go. Edgar postures up with some big punches and elbows. They might stop this fight between rounds. The assault continues with under a minute to go. 10-8 Edgar.

After the doctor checks out Yair’s eye, they stop it, as I suspected they would.

Demian Maia vs. Jorge Masvidal

Round 1 – Masvidal says no to a glove touch. Jorge circling the outside as Maia shoots in for a single and gets Masvidal down briefly. Masvidal back up but Maia is all over him and drags him back down, takes his back as Masvidal stands. Maia with the body triangle with his back to the cage while Masvidal is standing. Maia looking for the neck, softening Masvidal up. 2 minutes to go. They’re still in this position for well over a minute.  1 minute to go now. Maia starts to lose the body triangle, then gets it back. Masvidal dumps him finally and lands some big punches before the bell. Jorge did a lot more damage in those final seconds, but Maia controlled the action.

Round 2 – High kick from Jorge is blocked. Maia shoots, stuffed. Body kick and inside low kick from Jorge. Masvidal stuffs another takedown, lands a body kick and leg kick. More low kicks from Masvidal, stuffs another takedown. Maia gets a hold of a leg but can’t get the takedown, Masvidal tags him with a knee to the face and a punch. Maia gets Masvidal down now. 2 minutes to go. Maia bleeding. Masvidal gets to his feet, but Maia has a body lock and drags him down again. Repeat. Maia has his back now. 40 seconds to go. Maia softens him up with a few punches as the bell sounds. 10-9 Maia.

Round 3 – High kick from Masvidal. Inside low kick from Masvidal. Body kick from Masvidal. High kick from Masvidal blocked. 3:21 to go. Maia circling the outside. Jorge staying patient and so is Maia. Hard body kick from Masvidal. Maia dumps Masvidal to the canvas with a single leg. 2 minutes to go. Maia has his back with a body triangle with about a minute to go. Masvidal talking to him. Maia softening him up until the bell. 10-9 Maia.

Champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Jessica Andrade – for strawweight title

Round 1 – Low kick from Joanna. Again. Again. Low kick from Andrade. Joanna with another low kick. Right hand from Joanna. Inside low kick. Big left and a right from Andrade. Low kick from Joanna but Andrade with punches inside as she backs her to the cage. Andrade picks her up for a slam and has Joanna on her back. Joanna already has a big lump on her forehead. Joanna up, lands an elbow and a couple knees to the body as Jessica tries controlling her against the cage. Joanna backs out to the center and they square up. Low kick from Joanna, again. More low kicks. Head kick from Joanna scores. Jessica shakes her head. Low kick from Joanna. Again. Front kick from Joanna to the body. Hard low kick from Jessica. Knee to the body and left on the break from Joanna. Andrade walking her down. Jab from Joanna. Andrade presses her to the cage with 26 seconds left. Andrade picks her up for another slam. Joanna bounces up and lands an elbow. High kick and more low kicks from Joanna. 10-9 Joanna.

Round 3 – They trade low kicks. Low kick Joanna. Body kick from Joanna. Front leg head kick from Joanna. Front kick to the body. Low kick. Andrade rushes in for a takedown attempt, presses Joanna to the cage, pays for it by eating an elbow. Joanna backs out, lands a front kick, low kick, another low kick, jab. High kick from the champ, right to the body. 2:30 to go. Snappy jab from the champ. Joanna sticking and moving. Beautiful jab at work. Andrade whiffing a lot now winging punches. Joanna with a head kick. Andrade pushes her to the cage looking for the takedown. 10-9 Joanna.

Round 4 – A few low kicks, then a head kick from Joanna. More low kicks and jabs from the champ as she dictates the standup game. So technical. Couple nice right hands from Joanna. Head kick, front kick. Hard one two from Joanna stuns her. Andrade finally gets her tied up against the cage. Elbow from Joanna, knee to the body, as they continue to wrestle in the clinch. Andrade looking for a single leg. She picks Joanna up for another takedown attempt but is unable to secure it. 1:11 to go. More leg kicks and a hard right from Joanna. Andrade is tough as nails and just eats a solid shin to the face. Jessica trying to bull dog her but Joanna keeps sticking and moving. 10-8 Joanna.

Round 5 – They hug and touch gloves. Andrade goes back to trying to chase Joanna down, but when she gets close enough she continues to eat punches and kicks. Hard right from Joanna. Andrade ties her up briefly, but Joanna backs out and goes back to her game. Andrade lands a couple right hands with a little over 2 minutes to go. Every time Andrade lands it shows up on Joanna’s face. Nice counter hook from Joanna. It’s a like a bull and a matador right now. Under a minute to go. Joanna with a couple more rights, Andrade punching mostly air. Hard right from Joanna before the bell after they tie up. 10-9 Joanna.

Champ Stipe Miocic vs. Junior Dos Santos – for heavyweight title

Round 1 – Here we go guys. I can’t imagine this going the distance. Low kick from Stipe. Hard low kick from JDS. Stipe backs him to the cage with a one-two. Hard low kick from JDS. Hard right from Stipe. Stipe already limping a bit from the low kick. Another hard low kick from Stipe. Two rights and a left from Stipe. Another low kick from Stip, backs JDS to the cage and scores with punches. JDS gets out of there before he takes another. Stipe backs JDS to the cage and drops him with the next right and finishes him off with several more punches before referee Herb Dean steps in there. Stipe Miocic is one bad man.
