Before Chris Foster returns to action versus fellow top Northeast featherweight prospect Calvin Kattar at CES MMA 38 on September 23 in his native Connecticut, live on AXS TV Fights, the Bellator and WSOF vet caught up with ProMMANow.com.

How much have you improved since we last saw you in the CES MMA cage?

I’ve improved a lot, man. It’s been too long since I’ve been fighting for CES MMA, but I’ve been steadily training and improving since then. I’ve been working hard on filling all the holes in my game and rounding out any of my weaknesses.

How have your preparations been going so far?

Everything has been going great. I’ve been working a lot on my ground game, and sharpening my striking. Everything has been great. Fight Night can’t come soon enough.

How excited are you to be back in the cage?

Oh, I’m extremely excited. CES MMA always treats me really well, so I’m definitely excited to be back in action.

How do you see this fight playing out?

Calvin Kattar is a tough guy. He’s a really tough, game opponent. This is my toughest fight yet. It’s going to be a war. I’m going to be pushing for the KO. That’s what I’m always trying to do. If this fight goes three rounds, it’s going to be a slugfest.

With a victory, do you want a shot at Matt Bessette’s CES MMA Featherweight Championship?

Oh yeah. If that’s there, I’m definitely going to jump at that opportunity. I would love to have that belt wrapped around my waist.
