Last night we literally saw the birth, or afterbirth of Super Cena 2.0 in Roman Reigns. At WWE’s Extreme Rules, Roman kicked out of every single finisher AJ Styles gave him. He kicked out of the Bullet Club’s finisher, he kicked out of Styles Clash, and Styles Clash on a chair, and so on to the ire of true WWE fans. We just got out of the John Cena era and there was hope that the company was going in the right direction. Instead, we got Superman Reigns who is going to continue to be shoved down our throats.
John Bradshaw Layfield is the worst commentator since Mark Madden and that’s saying a lot. To make matters worse, WWE has him spouting lines like “Listen to that ovation” when he is getting booed. It is literal insanity. The tag line JBL uses about Roman Reigns is, “If you love him or hate him, you’re very passionate about him!” That stupidity was written by Vince McMahon himself and is the official company position on their champion. This comes from The Wrestling Observer. We went through this with John Cena and it had been the worst time in pro wrestling history since HHH’s nepotism reign called the “Reign of Terror” spanning two years.
Kevin Dunn muted cheers for the Bullet Club when they won last night. They muted AJ Styles chants and then pumped up the responding Roman Reigns chants. They muted the deafening boos for Roman Reigns. It is maddening to the WWE Universe, but according to people in the company it is almost out of spite now by Vince McMahon because fans are not supporting him.
