Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter said this week that there are numerous accounts that indicate CM Punk has been working very hard but he has not progressed very much as a fighter. Punk has apparently participated in sparring sessions and there are a lot of rumors that frankly say it didn’t go well at all for the former WWE star.

Punk had to delay his training several times due to back and shoulder injuries. The UFC wanted him to debut in 2015 but he had problems adjusting to MMA and was injured. UFC then wanted him to fight at UFC 199 on June 4th in Los Angeles. Punk underwent back surgery and that put those plans on ice.

To make matters worse, The Observer also reported that the general feeling is Punk’s scheduled opponent, Mickey Gall, will walk right through him. Dave Meltzer said Punk’s future is uncertain and the more time it takes to announce a fight the less chance he will ever debut.

We support Phil Brooks aka CM Punk and wish him well and a speedy recovery.
