UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has been busy today. The one-man promotional machine can capture millions of people’s attention with a simple Tweet. But today he released several and it all started with his response to a recent Nate Diaz photo that showed his rival looking quite beefy and MMA personality @FrontRowBrian suggesting he move back to 145-pounds.

Conor’s response is that he’s going to come in “light and lean” for his rematch with Nate DiazĀ and he doesn’t seem concerned at all about their difference in size. He goes on to respond to several Diaz supporters to make his case of why he feels he’s the superior athlete.

Conor lost via second round submission to Nate in March at 170 pounds after his originally scheduled opponent, lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos, pulled out only three weeks before theirĀ scheduled championship bout.

Is there any way McGregor can tighten up his game enough where he could actually defeat the longer, taller and heavier Diaz at welterweight? Diaz’s boxing and submission game appears to be on a different level, and then you factor in the size, it seems unlikely anything will be different. What say you?
