Let’s be honest. I know I always say that, but I mean it. We all know that Vince McMahon is stubborn and determined to be right at all costs, even those times when it is not best for business. Roman Reigns has been shoved down our throats just like John Cena has for years.
We watched Cena bury prospect after prospect while protecting his spot. Just see his decision to beat all of The Nexus and kill the hottest stable at the time as a good example of his poor choices. Now, it appears that it’s Roman’s turn as the unstoppable Superman and Vince has no intention of giving the fans what they really want. None.
What does that rant have to do with the rumor in the title? Everything. John Cena is a tired character, but at least he gets a reaction that is about 40% positive compared to Roman’s 20%. Since RAW is being recorded as of this posting from England they will have the chance to edit it including the crowd reactions before it airs in the USA tonight. Strong, reliable rumors of Vince demanding that the boos be edited out in favor of cheers when Roman is on screen have popped up on places like Reddit. We’ll see.
Secondly, many believe that since WWE has started touting Roman Reigns’s Make-a-Wish foundation events that it’s the nail in the coffin for WWE fans much like it was with John Cena. Once WWE has established a star as a Make-a-Wish rep, and they are champion – it’s over. WWE using these visits by Reigns as a PR move is bad news for the majority of fans who want him anywhere but in their main events. The odds of him losing the belt sometime this year are almost ZERO.
