Stack That Cake With Our Daily Pick
If you looked at our odds for Glover Teixeira vs. Rashad Evans yesterday, you’ll see that the line has shifted a little closer now at -220 for Teixeira and +180 for Evans according to the same bookmaker we looked at yesterday. A 5 point shift toward Even.
Here’s the takeaway. Glover is likely going to win this fight. You can bet more now to win more, or use this fight as part of a parlay or prop bet. But a straight bet on this one is not the best way to go. A better bet would be the free pick we previously gave out for UFC on Fox 19. (Updated 4-18-16: Ha I was wrong with my ‘free pick’ claiming Torres would defeat Namajunas in their rematch. Rose looked amazing and is showing signs of true progression)
In my opinion after Evans’s loss to Jon Jones for the championship his heart just hasn’t been in it. On top of that you factor in the injuries he’s suffered and the fact he had been sitting on the bench for two years prior to his last fight — a unanimous decision loss to Ryan Bader last October.
Glover is still hungry, he proved that with his submission win over a game Ovince Saint Preux last August and then a second round TKO stoppage of Pat Cummins three months later. He has a lot more momentum right now than Evans and my guess is he adds one more to his back-to-back wins.
