Nick Diaz UFC 158

It certainly looks like it could be a possibility according to Nick Diaz himself as he posted this  message to this Instagram account:

Just spoke with my legal team at Campbell & Williams and talks with the NV athletic commission are going well.  We’re working hard with them to get this right.  Thanks for the support.

Diaz was suspended for five years by the Nevada Athletic Commission last month due to a failed post-fight drug test at UFC 183 where he fought Anderson Silva. He was also fined $150,000, which was 33-percent of his $500,000 UFC 183 fight purse.

The failed test was the third of its kind by Diaz, testing positive for marijuana metabolites in both 2007 and 2012. However, there were inconsistencies in the way the UFC 183 drug testing took place. Diaz was tested three times on the night of his UFC 183 fight, once before, and twice after the fight. The first and third samples were taken under WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) protocol. The second sample was administered by a lab that was not accredited by WADA, and was the lone sample to come back positive.

Diaz, always a fan favorite, received an incredible amount of support in light of the suspension. A White House petition received over 100,000 signatures in an effort to get the suspension uplifted.
