I don’t watch baseball. “America’s game” I think they call it. PMN’s own Kelvin Hunt is a former collegiate baseball player and I would have gladly gone to one of his games and had a good time. I can watch it and I’m sure if I had a few beers in me I might even enjoy moments of the game. But really, it’s just not my thing. I’d much rather watch a physical specimen who has trained their body as a real life ninja killer take on a competitor one-on-one who has done the same. It’s the ultimate competition really. So it’s a little hard to go watch baseball after seeing a real life she-ninja like Ronda Rousey knock out Alexis Davis in 16-seconds. Or after watching her submit Cat Zingano in 14-seconds. There’s a different level of intensity there. Ya feel me. No offense to my baseball loving comrades.

Apparently there’s someone else who has an appreciation for Ms. Rousey — and he happens to be a baseball player, a Cubs minor leaguer out of Des Moines named Anthony Giansanti. Never heard of him? That’s okay, he probably hasn’t heard of us either. But my man is literally stalking Rousey on Twitter.

Check this:

As you can see Giansanti has been leaving a ticket to his game EVERYDAY at will call for Ronda. And letting her know about it on Twitter, even asking Cubs fans to help him out with retweets. Uh dude… the champ is in f*cking training camp right now. She’s defending her title in less than two weeks in Brazil. Something you would know if you were a real MMA fan and didn’t just jump on the Ronda bandwagon after the ESPYs. I’m sorry that’s an assumption. Maybe you’re a longtime fan of Ronda’s and it just slipped your mind she had a fight coming up.

Either way, you would not want the champ to break training camp to come watch you play ball in Des Moines would you? That’s not being supportive. What if you lost? And what if she actually liked you and you lost, then she felt sad and ended up getting knocked out in her fight because she was distracted due to your own lack of planning? How would you feel then? I don’t think you’ve thought this thing through. Giansanti, that next Tweet you make to Ronda Rousey could change the course of the UFC women’s bantamweight division forever. Choose wisely.

*********

UPDATE: Okay, Giansanti has taken our advice and has publicly apologized to Rousey (and to us as the official guardian of all things MMA). Carry on.

  1. I just think you’re overreacting to this situation. I personally think it’s a joke that is actually pretty funny. You don’t have to say anything bad about the kid. If you had the chance to leave a ticket for Ronda you would too.
