Legendary actor Christopher Lee possibly remembered by this generation more for playing Count Dooku in Star Wars I-III, and nailing Saruman in Lord of the Rings I-III, and The Hobbit I-III has passed away at 93. Lee famously faced off against Roger Moore’s James Bond as the villain Scaramanga in the memorable The Man With the Golden Gun back in 1974.

Lee died on Sunday morning, June 7 at Westminster Hospital in London after being admitted for respiratory problems and heart failure. The Guardian reported that his wife, former Danish model and painter Gitte Kroencke, decided to release the news days later in order to inform family members first.
