STING

You could have at least kissed Sting first.

We don’t want the Attitude era WWE – we just want the attitude back. We also would like you to stop belittling some of the greatest wrestlers in the world because they crushed you, and made Vince mortal to the point he had to listen to other people instead of being just a dictator.

Last night at Wrestlemania 31 we were supposed to see the recognition from WWE that Sting, one of the greatest champions of all time in any promotion, deserved one last time in the spotlight, but they didn’t. Not only did they not let that happen – they made sure a younger generation forgot about him.

During Sting’s match with HHH, JBL completely, maliciously, and to the point that it sounded like angry Vince was egging him on DESTROYED Sting verbally. He discredited every accomplishment. He discredited his significance. He discredited the man. Worst of all, by doing this in a match Sting was to lose – he erased all of those from wrestling history. Sting was brought in to mean nothing and to be the final nail in WCW’s coffin. He was as Stephanie said, “A little fish in a big pond” in WWE….

The classy and right thing to do was have JBL, who many fans want gone from their TV speakers, talk about Sting’s importance to the world of wrestling. Talk about his accomplishments as if they meant something. There should have been some acknowledgement that he was one of the greatest of all time, but instead we got the most shameful verbal destruction of a wrestling legend in WWE history.

The match was filled with some fun moments, but JBL’s relentless unprofessional commentating took away from that. We were no longer watching the debut of Sting in a WWE ring, no sir. What we were watching was Vince McMahon giggle with glee at Sting’s downfall, hell maybe even HHH’s ego get the better of himself. HHH has become guilty of of being professionally selfish to the point that they decided not to book Sting to defeat a mid-carder to ride off in the sunset, nor did we get the Undertaker vs. Sting dream match. Nope, we got the match nobody wanted despite WWE saying otherwise. HHH made sure he won and smashed what was left of Sting’s credibility.

The run-ins during the match with NWO vs. DX served no purpose at all. Sting feuded with the NWO in some epic clashes and they never supported him, not once. DX on the other hand was led by Shawn Michaels and HHH so that made sense. Why would the NWO come out and save Sting? They wouldn’t except for a Kliq reunion excuse and to get Hogan on television.

In closing, if you go back and watch the match pay special attention to JBL’s pointed, scripted, and aggressive bullet point discrediting of a wrestling legend named Sting.

There is no amount of damage control, none, that you can do tonight on RAW. You screwed up the chance to recognize Sting’s immense accomplishments in the world of pro wrestling and made sure his legacy died with WCW.

**** you WWE.

  1. BUT THEY (WWE) WILL END UP TO FAIL for falsehood will evnetually end up in TOTAL Failure. Whatever they had in mind or were ‘planning to do’ will IMPLODE because doesn’t hold substance and it ain’t coming from The Truth ! TRUST ME.

  2. I agree Sting should’ve won but let me offer a different look as to a few things.
They were making this out to be WWE vs WCW. With JBL he’s really supposed to be a heel commentator much like Heenan, King, and Cole all were at one point or another. JBL was also in the Monday Night Wars so if it’s a WWE vs WCW storyline then it makes complete sense JBL would bash Sting as a heel commentator. As far as NWO coming down to help Sting it’s the same issue WWE vs WCW. (Wolf Pack NWO would’ve made more sense but again WWE vs WCW) I still agree Sting should’ve won and Taker never should’ve lost to Brock that way a Sting vs Taker Mania match would’ve been perfect and there would’ve been only one way to end the match. Double DQ. Taker would’ve been 22-0-1 which would allow them both to go out on a high note.

  3. Relax. Try as they might, they can’t do anything to tarnish Sting reputation. All they did was proving the legend can’t be beaten in normal condition. It takes a sledgehammer to finally nail Sting. But we all love Sting for not his wins or his lost, its his charisma and his ring job. Hail the Legend!!!

  4. In my mind The Stinger should of stayed w/TNA(Both TNA & Sting should of tryed to put their pride aside & work something out)TNA would of never bashed Sting the way WWE did–& The sad thing is Sting should of known what he was getting himself into when he signed w/ WWE…Like it or not–Sting was better off staying w/ TNA.
It sucks that Sting when out like this–He deserved a hell of a lot better(But noooo lets see a bogus WWE vs. WCW storyline & lets see HHH shoved down are throats again

  5. Get a life, it’s not real…… It doesn’t matter who wins or loses, all that matters is that he puts on a good show and the fans enjoy what he does. If Harrison Ford was to die in the next Star Wars film would disney be destroying his legacy? No of course not, it’s just a story line, grow up and go outside
