ufn65_hunt_vs_miocicUFC officials announced today that heavy-handed heavyweights Mark Hunt and Stipe Miocic will meet in the UFC Fight Night 65 main event when the promotion visits Adelaide, Australia for the first time on May 10th.

The always dangerous Hunt (10-9-1) is coming off a second round TKO loss to Fabricio Werdum in November for the interim heavyweight title. Just prior to that Hunt knocked out Roy Nelson in September. The 40-year-old former K-1 Grand Prix winner is 1-2-1 in his last four fights, but all it takes is one clean shot from the New Zealander to put his opponent’s lights out. He is currently ranked No. 5 in the heavyweight division.

Miocic (12-2) is coming off a unanimous decision loss, yet Fight of the Night performance, against former champ Junior dos Santos in December. The ex-collegiate baseball standout was on a three-fight winning streak before that, having dispatched the likes of Roy Nelson, Gabriel Gonzaga and Fabio Maldonado. He is currently ranked No. 4 in the division.
