UFC officials announced earlier today that former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Alexander Gustafsson will take place in Sweden at the UFC on FOX 14 event on January 24th. The promotion has now announced the co-main event for UFC on FOX 14, which is a middleweight bout  between Dan Henderson and Gegard Mousasi.

The event will take place at the Tele2 Arena, and tickets for the event will be made available to the general public on November 28.

Henderson (30-12) is trying to rebound off an absolute domination loss at the hands of the next UFC light heavyweight title challenger Daniel Cormier. Cormier defeated Henderson via rear naked choke at UFC 173. Henderson was coming off a KO win over Shogun Rua, but had lost his last three bouts inside the Octagon. This will be Henderson’s first bout at middleweight since 201o.

Mousasi (35-5-2) is coming off a submission loss at the hands of Jacare Souza in his last outing in September. Mousasi is currently (1-2) since returning to the middleweight division in earlier this year. He defeated Mark Munoz, but lost to Lyoto Machida earlier this year.

This could be the last hoorah for Henderson who is clearly inthe twilight of his career. It’s huge fight for Mousasi as well, because a loss to Hendeson at this stage of his career would be basically put him back at square one.
