UFC officials have announced the co-main event for the upcoming Boston event that’s set for January 18. Former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson will return to action to take on former Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez. Both fighters are coming off a losses in their last bouts, and will be looking to get back in the win column against a tough opponent.
The event will be headlined by the lightweight bout between Conor McGregor and Dennis Siver.
Henderson (21-4) is coming off a first round KO loss against Rafael dos Anjos in his last outing. Henderson had won two straight fights since losing his lightweight title against Anthony Pettis.
Alvarez (25-4) is coming off a unanimous decision loss against Donald Cerrone in his UFC debut in September. Alvarez has regained the Bellator lightweight title by avenging a previous defeat against Michael Chandler prior to coming over to the UFC roster.
