UFC officials have announced that former women boxing champion and new UFC fighter Holly Holm will make her promotional debut at UFC 181 against TUF alum Raquel Pennington. The event will take place on December 6 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, and will be headlined by the UFC welterweight title fight rematch between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler. The co-main event will feature the UFC lightweight title fight between TUF coaches Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez.
Holm (7-0) is coming off a TKO win over Juliana Werner to win the Legacy Fighting Championship women’s bantamweight title. She made her MMA debut in 2011 and has won six of her seven MMA bouts via TKO/KO.
Pennington (4-4) is coming off a split decision loss to Jessica Andrade in his last outing at UFC 171 in March. Pennington has lost three of his last four MMA bouts, with the lone win coming against women’s MMA veteran Roxanne Modafferi.
