WWE superstar Roman Reigns was injured earlier this year and required emergency surgery for a hernia. Since then the rising star has been sidelined and this has allowed the extremely popular Dean Ambrose to truly showcase what he is capable of. WWE is not shy about their love for Reigns and the thought of him in the Wrestlemania 31 main event is a collective belief in their corporate office. They are reportedly increasingly concerned about his absence from TV, especially Vince McMahon. It is no secret that Vince loves big wrestlers and in case you missed it we present our favorite parody video illustrating this point.
Tonight, Roman returns to WWE’s flagship television program RAW on the USA network to give a much needed update to his fans about the timetable for his return. I can tell you right now that he will be back by Royal Rumble, and most likely will win it despite Dean Ambrose being the company’s second most popular good guy to mainstay John Cena. It makes sense to shareholders and marketing a guy with his size and charisma seems a no brainer, but I’m calling it now. If Dean Ambrose is still as hot as he is, and Roman Reigns wins the Royal Rumble – and he will – the fans will make him their new Batista and boo him out the building.
WWE has to be carefully calculating a plan to place Reigns at the top of their roster. Only time will tell if the fans will accept it, or will they chant Ambrose’s name like last year’s Daniel Bryan lead up to Wrestlemania phenomenon. Stay tuned to PMN for more as it develops.
