Holtzman to UFC

Scott Holtzman (7-0) made his professional debut back in 2012 in Knoxville for John Prisco’s XFC promotion. He won the contract after knocking off several men in an amateur tournament. He’s never lost and he’s never looked back. He announced his release from XFC just a few days ago and today we learn he has signed with the UFC.

The Knoxville prospect joins Ovince St. Preux from the area on the UFC roster. OSP headlines this weekends UFC Fight Night Card and it may not be long before we see Holtzman in that main event role. The former hockey player has ran his record up to 7-0 and has taken his training to a new level at The MMA Lab in Arizona alongside former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson.

Holtzman got his start to MMA a little later than most but his skill set has evolved with each fight. He capture the XFC lightweight title last June and had one title defense. His last outing was in April of this year where he knocked off M-1 veteran George Shepard.

Congrats to “Hot Sauce”!

In honor of  throwback Thursday, here is our interview with Holtzman following his second professional win.
