Chael Sonnen breaks down the what is sure to live up to expectations fight between 145 champ Jose Aldo and top contender Chad Mendes in a very well thought out video interview.

In their first fight at UFC 142 Mendes dropped his guard at 4:59 of round 1 and lost by KO to a mean Aldo knee. This fight could have been much different if that one second to go was one second later. Mendes has been vocal about a rematch and the UFC gladly granted it. Chad Mendes has always been one of the few fan favorites at 145 despite it being a lower weight class and generally harder for casual fans to really care to be honest. Heavyweight down to welterweight have always been the money weight classes, but times are changing and we are seeing guys like Aldo and Mendes get fan support.

Their upcoming title fight takes place at UFC 179 in October and here we have the American Gangster Chael P Sonnen breaking the fight down as only he can. He says Aldo is probably the best pound for pound for fighter in the world. He also says Mendes is a much different fighter and a lot more experienced one this time around. Chael is no stranger to breaking down fights and doing analyis thanks to hours of TV commentating and fight examinations mainly on Fox Sports 1.

I think Jose Aldo is just too much for Mendes to handle and he will face the same challenges of Aldo’s impeccable takedown defense once again and be left looking at the lights. What do you think?
