khabib nurmagomedov-ufc165
So close but now so far away. The fans were ready for a showdown between Donald Cerrone and Khabib Nurmagomedov after “Cowboy” wrecked Jim Miller in Atlantic City. The fight was almost immediately signed and before the ink dried Nurmagomedov had injured his knee.

This is a fight that surprisingly everyone seemed to agree made sense. Cerrone has been on a tear and it appears that no one can figure out how to beat Khabib. The Dagestani fighter is a perfect 22-0 in his career with 6 straight of those wins in the UFC. His ability to put fighters on their back is astonishing. His style has apparently struck fear into the lightweight division as it seems no one wants to fight him.

According to Ariel Helwani at MMAFighting.com, Nurmagomedov will be out until January 2015. The injury is a torn meniscus in his right knee that will require surgery. This leaves one of the most active fighters on the roster, Cerrone, in limbo for the time being as nothing has been announced on his behalf.

Who would you like to see Cerrone fight next? Can Khabib bounce back and make a run to the title? Sound off in the comments. Stay close to ProMMANow (www.prommanow.com) for more news.
