UFC officials have announced that Gray Maynard will return to action at UFC 176 against Fabricio Cameos. The event is set to take place on August 2 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo will look to defend his title against Chad Mendes for the second time in the main event.

Maynard (11-3-1, 1NC) is coming off a TKO loss at the hands of Nate Diaz in his last outing in November 2013. In fact, Maynard has lost three of his last four fights all via TKO/KO. The lone win was a split decision win over Clay Guida in June 2012.

Cameos (14-8-1) is coming off a submission loss at UFC 168 against Jim Miller. Cameos has lost back-to-back fights after putting together a three fight winning streak in 2011 and early 2012.

Both of these fighters need a win in the worst way, in particular Maynard, who was thought to be a top tier lightweight just a year or so ago.
