UFC officials have announced that the upcoming heavyweight scrap between former champion Junior dos Santos and Stipe Miocic has been moved from the UFC 173 event on May 24. The fight will now headline the TUF Brazil 3 Finale that’s set to take place a week later on May 31.
The event will take place at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera in São Paulo, Brazil.
Dos Santos (16-3) is coming off a TKO loss at the hands of Cain Velasquez in his last fight back at UFC 166. It was the second loss to Velasquez after defeating in him their first matchup in 2011.
Miocic (11-1) is coming off a dominant unanimous decision win over former title contender Gabriel Gonzaga in his last fight back at UFC on FOX 10. Miocic has now won back-to-back fights since suffering his lone career loss against Stefan Struve.
