amazon_fire_tv-640x480I already use Amazon on my Xbox One, and before that my Playstation 3, to watch movies or catch-up on old TV shows I missed. They are kind of like Netflix on steroids when it comes to things you want to watch. Well, now they have released their own set-top box that streams TV series and movies, but also serve as a gaming console.

Amazon Fire TV will provide access to Netflix, Prime Instant Video, Hulu Plus, WatchESPN, low-cost video rentals, and more. The remote control has a search-by-voice feature. Specs include a quad-core processor, dedicated GPU, 2 GB of memory, dual-band, dual-antenna Wi-Fi, high definition 1080p video, and Dolby Digital Plus surround sound.

Game titles include Minecraft, The Walking Dead, Monsters University, the Amazon exclusive Sev Zero, plus free games. There are currently over a hundred gaming titles, with thousands more coming soon according to their website. The average price of paid games is $1.85. Not bad, eh?

Amazon Fire TV is now available for $99.  What do you think?
