bj-penn1UFC officials have announced that former lightweight champions Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn will go to war for the third time in the main event of the TUF 19 Finale that’s set for July 6 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This fight will take place in the featherweight division and will be a five round affair.

Penn (16-9-2) hasn’t fought since suffering a unanimous decision loss to Rory MacDonald as a welterweight at the UFC on FOX 5 event that took place in December 2012. Penn has lost the first two bouts against Edgar, however, the first fight was a controversial unanimous decision in which many felt Penn deserved the nod.

Edgar (16-4-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Charles Oliveira at UFC 162. Edgar had lost three consecutive fights going into the bout with Oliveira, including a featherweight title loss against Jose Aldo in his featherweight debut.
