UFC officials have announced that Danny Castillo will now face Charlie Brenneman on the UFC 172 card set for April 26 in Baltimore, Maryland. Castillo was originally scheduled to face Isaac Vallie-Flagg, but now Vallie-Flagg will be taking on Takanori Gomi on the same card.

The UFC 172 event will be headlined by the UFC light heavyweight title bout between champion Jon Jones and challenger Glover Teixeira. The co-main event will feature a light heavyweight bout between Phil Davis and Anthony Johnson.

Castillo (16-6) is coming off a majority decision loss against Edson Barboza in his last bout in December 2013. Castillo had won back-to-back fights going into the Barboza fight and three out of his last four. He’ll be looking to get back on track with a needed win over MMA veteran Charlie Brenneman.

Brenneman (19-6) is coming off first round submission loss to Beneil Dariush in his last outing. Brenneman won four fights outside the UFC to earn a return trip back to fight Dariush, and will likely need to win this fight to stay on the UFC roster.

The UFC 172 card thus far is below:

  • Jon Jones vs. Glover Teixiera
  • Phil Davis vs. Anthony Johnson
  • Jake Ellenberger vs. Tarec Saffiedine
  • Luke Rockhold vs. Tim Boetsch
