UFC officials have announced that Thiago Silva has been released from the roster due to his latest run-in with the law, and that Nikita Krylov will step in to face Ovince Saint Preux on the UFC 171 card.

OSP (14-5) is coming off a KO win over Cody Donovan in his last outing at UFC Fight Night 26. OSP is (2-0) since coming over to the UFC roster after Strikeforce closed up shop.

Krylov (16-3) is coming off a 25 second KO win over Walt Harris in his last outing at the UFC on FOX 10 event. Krylov is (1-1) in the UFC and will be moving down from the heavyweight division to face OSP in this outing.

The UFC 171 event will be headlined by the UFC welterweight title fight between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler. Also, the co-main event will feature another welterweight fight between Carlos Condit and Tyron Woodley.
