michael bisping ufc 159UFC officials have announced that Michael Bisping (24-5) has been medically cleared to face Tim Kennedy (17-4) on April 16 in Quebec, Canada.

The event will air on FOX Sports 1 and will feature the TUF Nations Finale.

Bisping has been out of action with a detached retina that required surgery and prevented him from fighting Mark Munoz in late 2013. Bisping has been out of action since defeating Alan Belcher at UFC 159 in April 2013 in what was a grudge match at the time.

Kennedy and Bisping have engaged in a similar grudge match as well, with Kennedy believing that Bisping is overrated while wishing to fight him to prove it. Kennedy is coming off a KO win over Rafael Natal in his last outing in November 2013.

The tentative TUF Nations card is below:

  • Michael Bisping vs. Tim Kennedy
  • Patrick Cote vs. Kyle Noke
  • Mitch Gagnon vs. Tim Gorman
  • Sam Stout vs. KJ Noons
  • Mark Bocek vs. Evan Dunham
