WWE Diva Kaitlyn released from the company *updated*


The WWE released the following statement today concerning WWE Diva Kaitlyn.

“As of Jan. 8, Kaitlyn (Celeste Bonin) will no longer be under contract with WWE. The former Divas Champion has chosen to pursue other endeavors outside the sports-entertainment world. WWE wishes Kaitlyn the best in all her future endeavors.”

Kaitlyn started out as a fitness model and 3 years later found herself in Florida Championship Wrestling, a WWE developmental territory.  She won the all-female third season of NXT competition in November 2010, and made her main roster debut in December 2010.Kaitlyn won her first WWE Divas Championship on the 20th Anniversary episode of Raw in January 2013, and would drop the title to AJ Lee at the Payback pay-per-view.


She tweeted the following after the news came out:

“Today is bittersweet. I’ve officially left @WWE on my own terms. Much love to WWE and all of you guys.”
