It was a full night of action that had its highs and lows from Kansas City as Invicta FC returned for their seventh event. Before the event even started there was some turmoil. Claudia Gadelha was rushed to the hospital after weigh-ins with a bacterial infection. She was forced to withdraw from her title fight with Carla Esparaza.
Tecia Torres made a great showing as she dominated Felice Herrig for fifteen minutes on her way to a unanimous decision victory. Barb Honchak defended her flyweight title over Leslie Smith with strong wrestling and aggression. Lauren Murphy was crowned the inaugural bantamweight champ after Miriam Nakamoto had a fight ending knee injury early in the fourth round.
Issues with the online stream seemed to frustrate some. After several complaints, Shannon Knapp pulled down the pay wall and made the event free for everyone online. Refunds are available upon request.
Just in case you missed the action, here is Invicta FC 7 in its entirety.
