Train vs Primetime
Tennessee MMA fans will be in for a treat on February 1st when 3FC Fighting Championships returns to kick off 2014. The main event has been announced and it has sparked debate between two of the more popular fighters in the area

Nate “The Train” Landwehr (3-1) will meet Adam “Primetime” Townsend (6-2) to crown the first professional champion of the Tennessee based promotion.

This fight was scheduled to happen at XFC 20 in Knoxville last year. Townsend was forced to withdraw from the fight due to injury. Landwehr went on to TKO Chris Wright and land a contract with John Prisco and company. “The Train” went on to split his next two fights, losing to D’Juan Owens and knocking out Keith Richardson.

Townsend was one of the more active professionals in 2013. A win over Shane Crenshaw at 3FC 19 put Townsend at 4-2 for the year and 6-2 overall. He is undefeated when fighting in Pigeon Forge.

The stakes for this fight are high. As stated, this will be a five round professional title bout. Not only does that change things but it has been agreed that winner takes all. You read that correctly, the winner takes both purses.

Townsend vs. Landwehr goes down at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, TN on February 1st. For more information visit www3fcfights.com.
