V3Fights did it again!! Whether you were in attendance at Minglewood Hall or watching at home on www.gfl.tv, another awesome night of fights was witnessed by the V3Legion!!!! History was made, new champions were crowned, and the V3Legion got to witness a lot of new faces that will eventually become stars in the promotion.
Jesse Sanderson proved once again to never count him out as he successfully defended his title against number one contender, Blake Snow. Sheldon Smith is the new interim flyweight champion after his dominant performance over V3 veteran, Jesse Parker. And history was made as Amberlynn Orr defeated Jamie Milanowski in the main event. This was the first time that two females had ever fought in the main event for not only V3Fights, but in the state of Tennessee. Orr walked away with both belts.
The V3Legion also witnessed newcomers Smith, Jimmy Rice, Ross Campbell, Bryan Tidwell, and Matt Elkins put on a great display of MMA action in their V3 debut.
“Fight of the Night” honors goes to Frankie Shugart and Josh Heuerman. These two warriors left it all in the cage and closed out 2013 with a fight that will have fans talking for quite a while. “Submission of the Night” goes to Amberlynn Orr who was able to make Milanowski tap in the very first round via triangle choke with an arm bar. “Knockout of the Night” goes to “Big Tuna” Ben Parrish. He landed a beautiful knee to the liver of Jason Aldridge, who was then unable to answer the bell to enter the second round.
