Following a win at UFC Fight for the Troops 3, Bobby Green has stepped up to face Pat Healy at UFC on FOX 9. Green replaces an injured Jamie Varner on roughly a month’s notice for an undercard fight in Sacramento.

In a strange turn of events in Ft. Campbell, Green came out on top after landing two low blows before referee John McCarthy stopped the bout when James  Krause dropped following a third shot that was close the groin. Green has won six fights in a row and is a perfect 2-0 inside the Octagon. He had won his previous four fights while under the Strikeforce banner.

Pat Healy is in desperate need of a win. After being suspended for a positive drug test that overturned his win against Jim Miller, Healy was defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 165. The veteran of 48 fights will look to stop the rising star on December 14th at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento.

UFC on FOX 9 is headlined by the flyweight title fight between Joseph Benavidez and champion Demtrious Johnson. Other notable fights include Urijah Faber taking on Michael McDonald and a welterweight battle between Matt Brown and Carlos Condit.

  1. An alternative is quite good and hopefully that will do what he does not bring disappointment for us. Quite a lot of expectations placed on it.
