[ads2]rory macdonaldUFC officials have announced that Rory MacDonald will take on Robbie Lawler in a welterweight bout that will take place on UFC 167 in November. The event will take place on November 16 and will be headlined by the UFC welterweight title fight between champion Georges St. Pierre and number one contender Johny Hendricks.

The event will take place in Las Vegas, and will be part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the UFC’s first event.

MacDonald (15-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Jake Ellenberger in his last outing last month. The welterweight has won five consecutive fights since suffering his lone defeat to former interim champion Carlos Condit in 2010.

Lawler (21-9, 1NC) is coming off a second round KO win over Bobby Voelker in his last outing last month. Lawler has won back-to-back fights since re-joining the UFC roster earlier this year.

The winner of this fight could put themselves into title contention depending on how they win and who wins the matchup between GSP and Johny Hendricks.
