Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida (19-4) will be dropping down to the UFC middleweight division to take on former Strikeforce middleweight title challenger Tim Kennedy (16-4).
The event will take place at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, on November 6th.
Machida is coming off a controversial split decision loss to Phil Davis in his last outing at UFC 163. The former champion had won back-to-back fights going into the bout with Davis.
Kennedy is coming off a unanimous decision win over Roger Gracie in his last outing at UFC 162. The bout was his UFC debut after competing in the Strikeforce promotion for the previous three years.
This will be the third UFC Fight for the Troops event. The other two took place at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in 2008, and Fort Hood, Texas, in 2011.
