UFC_166_posterThe UFC 166: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos III card is set to take place in Houston, Texas, on October 19, and will take place at the Toyota Center. The event will be headlined by the heavyweight trilogy between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos with a heavyweight co-main event between Daniel Cormier and Roy Nelson. UFC officials have announced several new bouts over the past few days.

Junior dos Santos defeated Velasquez at the inaugural UFC on FOX show in November 2011 via KO in 64 seconds to become the UFC heavyweight champion. However, Velasquez was able to defeat dos Santos via a dominant unanimous decision at UFC 155 in December 2012 to reclaim the UFC championship.

Daniel Cormier and Roy Nelson have been on a collision course over the past couple of months as both have been throwing verbal jabs at one another. Nelson lost a unanimous decision against Stipe Miocic in the final fight on his UFC contract. Nelson could entertain offers from other promotions at that time, but Cormier kept the heat on and Nelson decided to re-sign with the UFC and meet Cormier in October.
