The UFC on FOX 8 event garnered just over 2 million viewers to become the least viewed UFC on FOX event of all time according to TVbytheNumbers.

However, the event did win the coveted 18-49 demographic that advertisers want to target with ads. The final numbers for the event will probably be slightly adjusted and released on late Monday or Tuesday.

The event was down 40% in the 18-49 demo from the most recent UFC on FOX 7 event which took place in April. That event was headlined by the UFC lightweight title fight between Ben Henderson and former Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez.

The UFC on FOX 4 event that took place around the same time in 2012 averaged 2.44 million viewers and was headlined by the UFC light heavyweight bout between former champion Maurcio “Shogun” Rua and Brandon Vera. It should be noted that the UFC on FOX 4 event aired during the 2012 Summer Olympics which surely impacted those ratings from a year ago.

So unless the final ratings adjustment nets a significant increase in viewers (it will not), the UFC on FOX 8 event will be down a pretty good percentage in viewership.
