anderson silva vs chris weidmanUFC President Dana White said that Anderson Silva would agree to a rematch just hours after losing his UFC middleweight crown to Chris Weidman at UFC 162.

White announced on ESPN today that the rematch is set to take place at UFC 168 on December 28th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The same venue in which the huge upset took place just a week ago. That fight will be the main event, and the UFC women’s bantamweight title fight between Ronda Rousey and arch nemesis Miesha Tate will serve as the co-main event.

“I don’t know if there’s any more hype ever in UFC history after a fight,” White said. “Everybody has been wondering if there’s going to be a rematch. I’ve been working on it since Thursday. December 28 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand, Anderson Silva will fight Chris Weidman, and the co-main event will be Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate.”

Here’s what Silva had to say regarding the rematch below:

Oh boy!  This will be the longest five months ever!  Who do you have winning the rematch?
