UFC officials have announced that the rubber match between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos will main event UFC 166. The event is set to take place in the Honda Center on October 19 in Houston, Texas.
The two first met in 2011 at the inaugural UFC on FOX event which saw Junior dos Santos take the UFC heavyweight belt against from Velasquez via first round 64 second KO.
However, Velasquez was able to avenge the loss in December 2012 at UFC 155 with a dominating five round unanimous decision win to take the title back. The two will meet for the third time to settle the score to decide one and for all who the best heavyweight in the world is.
Also on the card, a welterweight fight between Hector Lombard and Nate Marquardt will take place. This will be Lombard’s first fight at welterweight after fighting as a middleweight.
Also, a lightweight bout between former Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez and TUF 1 winner Diego Sanchez will also be on tap.
