rampage10.0_standard_709.0We reported earlier this morning that former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was hinting at a possible fight coming up. Well apparently he has signed with the Bellator MMA promotion according to their Twitter account:

Jackson (32-11) will enter the Bellator MMA promotion riding a three fight losing streak, including the unanimous decision loss to Glover Teixeira in his last outing at UFC on FOX 6 in January.

It appears that Jackson could have a potential deal similar to “King Mo” Lawal in which he could potentially do some professional wrestling with the TNA promotion as well. Jackson has long been a fan of professional wrestling, even using the huge chain around his neck like the “Junk Yard Dog” of WWF fame.

This news is surprising as Bellator usually steers clear of “UFC washouts” as they usually look to create stars of their own by signing young fighters to fight in their tournaments. I suppose the allure of Jackson’s name recognition, and likelihood of Jackson looking to get back at the UFC with whom he left on bad term was the perfect storm.

No news on when he’ll make his Bellator MMA debut is available at this time. Stay tuned for more on this breaking story at ProMMAnow.com.
