Las Vegas – June 3, 2013 It’ll be some good, old-fashioned home cooking for Cleveland’s Tiawan “The Iron Dragon” Howard when he competes in his home state of Ohio against Quinton McCottrell in the main event of Rocktagon XXVII “Way of the Warrior.”

The backdrop for this bout is like something made out of a Hollywood movie.

Howard, who is coming off a loss, has a rare opportunity to bounce back in the featured spot of an important fight card in front of his family and friends. McCottrell, on the other hand, looks to play the lone ranger who spoils the homecoming.

Despite past inconsistencies, Howard has shown promise throughout his MMA tenure, and it would be foolish to assume he couldn’t rise to the occasion once more. A fight in familiar stomping grounds in Ohio may be just what the doctor ordered for this Bellator and ShoXC veteran.

It won’t be easy dealing with the red-hot McCottrell, who was riding a two-fight win streak, including a highly impressive submission win over Kevin Morris at King of the Cage in April, before losing a decision last week in Indiana.

Like Howard, McCottrell has shown the ability to finish the fight anywhere. Fans can expect a well-rounded battle between two savvy veterans looking to put on an exciting show and climb the MMA ranks.
