‘UFC on FOX 8: Johnson vs. Moraga’ full fight card announced; tickets on sale May 17

UFC on FOX 8[ads2][ads1]UFC flyweight champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson (17-2-1) returns to FOX television for his second straight title defense when he faces number one 125-pound contender John Moraga (13-1) in the UFC on FOX 8 main event on Saturday, July 27 at Key Arena in Seattle, Wash.

Tickets for “UFC on FOX 8: Johnson vs. Moraga” go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m. PT at the KeyArena Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations, by phone 800-745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. UFC Fight Club members can purchase tickets on Wednesday, May 15 and UFC newsletter subscribers can purchase tickets on Thursday, May 16.

Johnson earned the UFC flyweight title last September with a split decision win over Joseph Benavidez. He returned in January for his first title defense, scoring a unanimous decision win over John Dodson. Moraga was a two-time NCAA wrestling All-American at Arizona State University and is currently riding a seven-fight win streak.

In co-main event action Canadian welterweight contender Rory MacDonald takes on heavy-handed knockout artist Jake Ellenberger. Also, longtime MMA veteran Robbie Lawler battles former Strikeforce welterweight champ Tarec Saffiedine. And rounding out the main card on FOX, former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champ Miesha Tate takes on former UFC women’s bantamweight title contender Liz Carmouche.

The preliminary card match-ups include:

  • Lightweight: Bobby Green vs. Danny Castillo
  • Lightweight: Mac Danzig vs. Melvin Guillard
  • Heavyweight: Brendan Schaub vs. Matt Mitrione
  • Lightweight: Spencer Fisher vs. Yves Edwards
  • Women’s Bantamweight: Julie Kedzie vs. Germaine de Randamie
  • Middleweight: Ed Herman vs. Trevor Smith
  • Lightweight: Aaron Riley vs. Justin Salas

The UFC on FOX 8 main card airs LIVE On FOX Saturday, July 27 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, preceded by the prelims on FX at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT.
