UFC lightweight champion Benson HendersonUFC President Dan White gave us a glimpse into the future at the UFC on FOX 7 post-fight press conference.

He stated that the winner of GrayMaynard/TJ Grant fight at UFC 160 will fight Ben Henderson next for the lightweight title.

Henderson successfully defended his UFC lightweight title on Saturday night by defeating former Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez via split decision.

UFC 160 is set to take place on May 27th which means Ben Henderson will probably defend his title sometime this fall against the winner of the Maynard-Grant fight.

Maynard (11-1-1) is coming off a split decision win over Clay Guida in June 2012. The two-time title challenger will look to get another shot at lightweight gold after coming up short against former champion Frankie Edgar on two occasions.

Grant (20-5) has rattled off four straight victories with his last win being a KO win over Matt Wiman in January. He hasn’t lost since dropping down to the lightweight division after competing as a welterweight for most of his career.
