A new bout has been added to the UFC on FOX 8 card as Julie Kedzie (16-11) faces Germaine de Randamie (3-2) in a women’s bantamweight matchup. The event is set to take place at Seattle’s KeyArena on July 27.
UFC officials confirmed the fight earlier today.
UFC on FOX 8 will also feature two important welterweight bouts including Rory MacDonald vs. Jake Ellenberger and Robbie Lawler vs. Tarec Saffiedine. The main card will air on FOX with the prelims expected to air on FX and Facebook.
Julie Kedzie was last in action against Miesha Tate at “Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman” in August 2012, where she dropped a third round submission loss. Prior to that she suffered a unanimous decision loss against Alexis Davis at “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson” in July 2011. Those two losses followed back-to-back unanimous decision victories over Sarah D’Alelio and Kaitlin Young during 2010/2011. Kedzie will no doubt look to get herself back into the win column with a good performance against Germaine.
Germaine de Randamie last fought at “Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman” in August 2012, where she scored unanimous decision victory over Hiroko Yamanaka. Prior to that she dropped a unanimous decision loss against Julia Budd at Strikeforce Challengers 16 in June 2011. That loss followed a first round knockout victory over Stephanie Webber at “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg” in January 2011. Germaine now has the chance to start a winning streak by defeating Kedzie on July 27.
