Cat ZinganoThe TUF 17 Finale took place on Saturday night and featured some great FREE MMA action. UFC officials announced that four fighters from the card were rewarded bonuses for their efforts.

Daniel Pineda (Submission of the Night), Travis Browne (Knockout of the Night), Cat Zingano and Miesha Tate earned (Fight of the Night) honors.

Pineda took on Justin Lawrence on the preliminary portion of the card and used an early takedown to secure a kimura submission early in the first round. He asked for the submission bonus in his post-fight interview and got it.

Browne took on Gabriel Gonzaga on the main card of the card and defended a couple of takedown attempts from Gonzaga early on. Gonzaga pinned Browne against the cage as he was looking for another takedown, and Browne just unloaded with several elbows to the side of Gonzaga’s head which put him away in the first round.

Zingano and Tate was an exciting scrap with plenty of back and forth action with Tate getting the better of Zingano early on. However, Zingano really started to turn up the heat near the end of round two and was able to stun Tate in round three before putting her away knees to the head from the clinch position. Zingano will now coach against Ronda Rousey on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter and challenge her for the title after the show airs later this year.
