Super Fight League Presents SFL 15 Friday Fight Nights

Event Time: April 12, 2013 at 9:00 PM in Mumbai, 8:30 AM in Los Angeles, 11:30 AM in New York, 11:30 PM in Hong Kong and 4:30 PM in London.

Super Fight League returns on April 12 with SFL 15 Friday Fight Night. The event features the return of Michael ‘Venom’ Page as well as an array of talented Indian and International fighters. Please see a detailed fight breakdown below of each bout on the fight card:

Bout # 1: Alam Idrisi vs. Kapil Kumar

The opening bout of the evening features two Indian MMA fighters with kickboxing instructor Alam (0-1 SFL) taking on Wushu expert Kapil (1-1 SFL). Alam’s SFL debut resulted in a loss to the #2 ranked Bantamweight Manoj Chuhan. That bout can be seen here (http://youtu.be/hRPrUBE9U9k). Kapil’s mixed SFL record amassed from a successful debut against Sharath Babu seen here (http://youtu.be/0i-c0_N1bx8) and a submission loss to Irfan Khan after being ahead on all judges scorecards seen here (http://youtu.be/lYpff9_YW0k).  Both of these fighters are in need of a win to propel them up the SFL Bantamweight Division.

Bout # 2: Kaushik Sen vs. Uchit Sharma

The second bout of SFL 15 will feature Kaushik Sen (0-1 SFL), Sen is a pioneer in Indian MMA, and he faces off against Uchit Sharma (1-0 SFL), a fighter 14 years younger than Kaushik. Kaushik Sen has a background in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu; he has trained and competed in the United States out of Louisville, KY alongside other SFL fighters John Troyer and Tom McKenna. Kaushik Sen’s SFL debut against Irfran Khan at SFL 4 can be seen here (http://youtu.be/I1MTWQ5wPbg). Uchit Sharma, is only 21 years of age, he made his SFL debut against Yashvir Singh at SFL 12 and was victorious via submission seen here (http://youtu.be/Zop-fTQaa4M). Sharma, touted as one of India’s most talented amateur fighters and a multiple-time Wushu champion will be looking to make a statement beating a veteran in the India MMA world and a fighter 14 years his elder.  

Bout # 3: Narender Grewal vs. Aadil Bashir

Bout 3 features Narender ‘Dynamite’ Grewal who has become a staple in the SFL having amassed a total of 3 fights over the promotions first 14 events. His two dominating victories at SFL 7 and 11 can be seen here (http://youtu.be/pL132WevrRg) (http://youtu.be/BwGEjpjJAqY) Narender was matched up to face Bharat Khandare at SFL 13: Night of Champions to compete for the first ever SFL Male Featherweight Championship where he was defeated but is still very much a contender for the coveted SFL belt. After the SFL 13 loss seen here (http://youtu.be/EKj1bZ1sa64) Narender has moved down a weight class to Bantamweight and will make his debut in this weight class at SFL 15. Aadil, a young 19 years of age, has made himself known competing through the SFL Contenders circuit over recent months.  He has proven to be a young and exciting fighter and has no fear coming into this bout.  Both of these fighters are looking to make a statement at SFL 15.

Bout # 4: Mahesh Kumar Baliyan vs. Johny Ryntathiang

Bout 4 features a Bantamweight clash between Mahesh Kumar Baliyan (1-0 SFL) taking on Johny Ryntathiang (1-0 SFL). Mahesh is a top-level wrestler who is considered by many as potentially one of India’s best wrestlers had he not turned his focus to the sport of MMA. In his SFL Contender’s bout he used his wrestling and strength to overpower his opponent and achieve a submission victory. Johny, a relatively unknown fighter heading into SFL Contenders quickly made a name for himself defeating heavily favored four-time national kickboxing gold medalist Sachim Panwar. After their exciting victories in SFL Contenders the 4th stanza of the evening can easily provide the fireworks and excitement that fans have come to love from Super Fight League.

Bout # 5: Ricky Sahni vs. Deen Mohammad Jorat

Bout 5 is a Lightweight fight between Indian Ricky ‘Rahyan’ Sahni (1-0 SFL) who is taking on Afghanistan native Deen Mohammad Jorat (0-0 SFL). Ricky Sahni is well-rounded fighter whose trained in India and as well as Thailand. Ricky was victorious at SFL 2 against Salika Senanayake via a very dominating TKO seen here (http://youtu.be/D9SNiqaYJ8U). Deen Mohamed Jorat is making his SFL debut however; many are very familiar with his brother and training partner SFL veteran Baz Muhammad Mubarez. Deen is a strong powerful fighter and will be bringing this into his bout with Ricky.

Bout # 6: Manjit Kolekar vs. Mona Mounir

The Co-Main Event of the evening once again showcases two talented WMMA fighters in the Women’s MMA Flyweight division. India native Manjit Kolekar (3-0 SFL) faces Mona Mounir (0-0 SFL) of Egypt. Manjit was a national level boxer in India before entering the sport of MMA and has amassed victories over Ritika Singh via TKO at SFL 5 seen here (http://youtu.be/B7ThLIa5eDY) and Monika at SFL 13 via Submission seen here (http://youtu.be/fQAxtNiQ_Zg). Manjit is also coached by SFL fighter Sanja Sucevic who has dramatically helped advance Manjit’s skillset as a MMA fighter. Mona comes into her SFL debut with a 1-1 MMA record and a kickboxing background out of Cairo, Egypt.

Bout # 7: Ramdan Mohamed vs. Michael Page

In the SFL 15 Friday Fight Nights Main Event MMA phenom Michael Page (1-0 SFL) returns to take on challenger Ramdan Mohamed (0-0 SFL). A point kickboxer training with The London Shootfighters Michael ‘Venom’ Page has quickly become of the most exciting fighters in the sport of MMA because of his unorthodox style and quick, effective striking. His SFL debut and surprisingly longest fight of his career against Haitham Tantawy at SFL 7 can be seen here (http://youtu.be/eu3YvzSGkAk). Ramdan ‘Farmer’ Mohamed makes his SFL debut after recently being victorious at EFC Egypt. A heavy-handed striker makes this an exciting matchup between speed and power.
