There’s a lot going on this week around the world of MMA. Let’s take a look at a few things you need to check out.

Pat Barry and his PYT Rose Namajunas drop it like it’s hot in the middle of a blizzard. Yes, I’ve watched this at least three times.

Stephan Bonnar finally came out of hiding after failing his drug test at UFC 153 back in October 2012. He told Ariel Helwani on Monday’s MMA Hour:

“Believe it or not, there are some therapeutic uses to some of the banned substances. Bottom line, I wanted to get my strength back. I was very weak. My body didn’t feel good, my joints didn’t feel good. That was my goal. … I’m not a stupid person. Of course, I know I’m going to get tested. I got three weeks to train for the fight, and 35 pounds to lose, and you really think after that I’m going to take something that’s detectable for a month? That makes no sense. Absolutely none.”

Mauricio “Shogun” Rua is scheduled to return to action at UFC 161 against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. According to a report from GracieMag.com, Shogun has enlisted the help of famed boxing coach Freddie Roach to help him prepare for “Lil Nog” who is known for his boxing. Roach commented on Shogun’s learning curve:

“He didn’t know how to transfer his weight too well, and he wasn’t a very big puncher at first. Once we got him pivoting and punching off the right foot, keeping his boxing stance, he punched really, really hard when he did it correctly. … I don’t think he was ever taught how to do it correctly.”

Roach also mentioned that Shogun is having a problem with his knee — even though Shogun’s camp has denied this.

Ryan Bader is out of his bout with Glover Teixeira at UFC 160 due to a knee injury. Australia’s James Te Huna, who is currently riding a four-fight win streak, will now face Teixeira.

Did you see Doug “The Rhino” Marshall accidentally kick his cornerman in the face during warm-ups at Bellator 92 last week? Fortunately, his cornerman has a good beard. Ouch!
