It’s almost time guys. We’re just a week away from Georges St-Pierre stepping in the Octagon with Stockton bad boy Nick Diaz. The two went at it hard on the UFC 158 conference call Thursday, and clearly Diaz is in St-Pierre’s head. We’ve never seen St-Pierre go to this “dark place” before and it’s all helping build the anticipation for March 16 when the two will square off for the UFC welterweight championship.
With all the drama surrounding St-Pierre and Diaz, it’s easy to forget UFC 158 also features the man most pundits consider to be the true No. 1 contender at 170 pounds, Johny Hendricks, in a co-main event battle with No. 2-ranked Carlos Condit. And if that wasn’t enough, the No. 6 ranked welterweight, Jake Ellenberger, will face former Strikeforce welterweight champ and former UFC title-contender Nate Marquardt.
