BAMMA 12: Ken Shamrock and Michael Schiavello announced as commentary team for March 9

ken-shamrock-previewUK Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, have announced that Ken Shamrock and Michael Schiavello will be the commentators for BAMMA 12. The event is set to take place at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England, on March 9.

BAMMA officials announced the new commentary team today via official press release.

UFC Hall of Famer, Ken Shamrock, has worked for numerous organisations within the sport and entertainment industries. Earlier in his career Shamrock competed for the UFC, Pride and Pancrase, winning various titles and tournaments during his time in Mixed Martial Arts. He also spent some time working as a professional wrestler for the World Wrestling Federation and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

Here is what Ken Shamrock had to say:

“I’m thrilled to be coming over to commentate on BAMMA. There’s a lot of places we don’t get to see from our part of the world so I’m always excited to travel; and I’m always excited to see the up and coming fighters.”

Shamrock’s commentary partner, Michael Schiavello, currently hosts “The Voice Versus” series on AXS TV, which is a one-hour talk show that features some of the biggest personalities and names in the sports and entertainment industry. Michael has previously commentated for promotions such as K-1, Dream, Maximum Fighting Championship, King of the Cage and The Contender Asia and HD Net Fights.

Here is what Michael Schiavello had to say:

“I’m looking forward to being back in England and back behind the microphone for BAMMA. There’s always a particular buzz to a BAMMA show that sets it apart from any other show in the world. I can’t put my finger on what it is but I know that I like it! I’m most looking forward to seeing Judo Jim Wallhead in the main event. He never has a boring fight, he always brings the house down and to me he’s the epitome of an English fighter: gritty, determined, hard-nosed and lacking a sun tan!”

BAMMA 12 will broadcast live 5* in the UK with highlights on Channel 5;  and will be televised on AXS-TV in the US, The Fight Network in Canada, Red Media in Russia, TV Esporte Interativo in Brazil and Setanta in Africa.
