The UFC on FUEL TV 8 event saved the best for last when the co-main event and main event fights provided memories for years to come.

Mark Hunt and Stefan Struve was a back and forth heavyweight war of attrition, and Brian Stann stood toe to toe with Wanderlei Silva in the main event.

Hunt, Stann, and Silva took home $50,000 in bonus money. Silva doubled up and took home $100,000 overall with two bonuses.

Hunt and Silva both shared the “Knockout of the Night” award. Hunt landed a leaping left hook that crushed Stefan Struve’s jaw and put him down for the count. Silva traded bombs in the pocket with Stann but landed a huge right-left combo that put Stann down before finishing him with two big punches on the ground.

There was no “Submission of the Night” award so with two spectacular knockouts the UFC decided to provide two KO bonuses.

The Silva/Stann fight also took home “Fight of the Night” honors. The first round was fought at a ridiculous pace with both fighters landing huge punches in close range. Stann dropped Silva a couple of times in the first round with Silva responding with fire of his own. The second round saw Silva fight with a little more patience before landing the huge combo that was reminiscent of the same combo he used to knockout Sakuraba in Japan years earlier.
