roopA new bout has been added to the UFC 158 card as George Roop (12-9-1) faces Reuben Duran (8-4-1) in a bantamweight matchup. The event is set to take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada, on March 16.

UFC officials announced the new fight earlier today.

UFC 158 will feature a headline bout between current UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and title challenger Nick Diaz. The main card will air LIVE on PPV with the prelims expected to air on FX and Facebook.

George Roop last fought at UFC on FOX 2 in January 2012, where he dropped a second round TKO loss to Cub Swanson. Prior to that he suffered a split decision loss against Hatsu Hioki at UFC 137 in October 2011. His last victory was against Josh Grispi at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale in June 2011, where he scored a first round KO. This a must win fight for Roop who will no doubt look for a big performance against Duran.

Reuben Duran was last in action at The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale in December 2012, where dropped a first round KO loss to Hugo Viana. Prior to that he picked up a third round submission victory over Francisco Rivera in June 2011. That win followed a decision loss against Takeya Mizugaki at “UFC Live: Sanchez vs. Kampmann” in March 2011. Duran now has the chance to bounce back into the win column by defeating Roop on March 16.
