A new bout has been added to the UFC 160 card as Stephen Thompson (6-1) faces Amir Sadollah (6-4) in a welterweight matchup. The event is set to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May. 25.
UFC officials confirmed the new bout on Wednesday.
UFC 160 will feature a headline bout between UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and title challenger Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva. The main card will air LIVE on PPV with the prelims expected to air on FX and Facebook.
Stephen Thompson last fought at UFC 145 in April 2012, where he dropped a unanimous decision loss against Matt Brown. Prior to that he had been on a six fight winning streak, defeating notable fighters such as William Kuhn, Patrick Mandio and Dan Stittgen. Thompson will no doubt look to get himself back into the win column with a big performance against Sadollah.
Amir Sadollah was last in action at UFC on FUEL TV 5 in September 2012, where he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Dan Hardy. Prior to that he scored a split decision victory over Jorge Lopez at UFC on FUEL TV 3 in May 2012, and dropped a unanimous decision loss against Duane Ludwig in August 2011. Amir now has the chance to bounce back onto the winning track by defeating Thomson on May. 25.
